The 16-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-7 and led to the 18-1 Buffaloes triumph over New York HS. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Hernandez said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Juan Hernandez flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th and grounded out in the 9th.
