The 17-year-old third baseman was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Port-au-Prince HS Sky Sox, but his teammates produced enough offense to win the game, 9-8. "Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit," a seemingly upbeat Gomez told reporters in the clubhouse. "But really, how could you be unhappy after you hit in 24 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. Life is good." Gomez is swinging at a .319 pace on the year with 1 home run, 6 RBIs and 6 runs scored. He has played in 12 games. |   |
