The Wichita HS Diamondbacks outplayed the Jacksonville HS Tomahawks en route to a 6-5 win, but the standout was catcher Mario Garcia. Garcia netted 5 hits in 6 at-bats and finished with a dynamite game line.
"Hey, we tried everything we could think of to get him out," Tomahawks manager said in postgame comments. "We threw everything but the kitchen sink against him and he hit it. Maybe we should've thrown the sink, too."
Mario Garcia doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, singled in the 8th and doubled in the 10th.
Garcia is hitting at a .375 mark this season. His stats show 2 home runs, 6 RBIs and 9 runs scored. He has played 12 games for the Diamondbacks. | | |
