Indianapolis HS shortstop Everett Kauffman thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Indianapolis HS to a win, 13-3, over Veracruz HS. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Kauffman said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Kauffman, who is tied for 6th in the SL1 in triples with 1, was 3-for-4 on the day with 6 runs batted in. Everett Kauffman hit a solo-shot off Willie Lopez in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Francisco Tovar in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Dennis Horn in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. Kauffman is hitting .289 so far this season with 10 RBIs and 16 runs scored. He has 22 hits including 5 home runs, 6 walks and .357 OBP. |   |
