| 3-HR Game for Dewey Tuesday, April 5th , 2039 Virginia Beach HS shortstop Casey Dewey saw a fantastic day go to waste at Speedsters Park as the Speedsters lost, 12-10, despite a trio of home runs from the youngster.
"It seems kinda odd, you know?" a somewhat dejected Dewey said after his club's defeat. "I mean, hitting three home runs in one game should be enough to win a game, right? I guess that's why they call it a team sport. Tomorrow I might strike out four times and other guys pick me up and we win. It takes more than one guy to get a win."
The 18-year-old tallied three homers in a 4-for-5 day, and added 7 RBIs and 3 scored.
"That guy really had a game, didn't he?" said Villahermosa HS manager . "Luckily we were able to shut down the rest of the team. We are feeling good about getting out of here with the win."
Casey Dewey hit a solo-shot off David Ramirez in the 1st, walked in a run in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off David Ramirez in the 5th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Francisco Ruiz in the 9th.
At the moment, Dewey is hitting .367 with 9 home runs and 25 RBIs. He has played in 24 games and scored 28 times. | | |
