| 5-Hit Blitz by Marshall Friday, March 14th , 2042 After a 5-hit effort to lead Indianapolis HS's 12-9 victory over the Matamoros HS Foresters, third baseman Eric Marshall told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the FBL High School 2-level is really something special."
The 18-year-old player earned his accolades at Foresters Stadium with a spectacular 5-for-7 game against the Foresters.
"His swing is getting there," said Shamrocks skipper , who spoke glowingly of Marshall after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Eric did that to perfection."
Eric Marshall grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far this season, Marshall has hit .385 with no home runs, 5 RBIs and scored 13 times. | | |
