 | Jimenez Bashes 3 HR for Guadalupe HS Wednesday, April 19th , 2045 His swing was a thing of beauty. Three times Emilio Jimenez swung the bat and three times he delivered a home run. It was an awesome sight to behold at Tides Park, but to no avail, for as good as he was, the Guatemala HS Atlantics were better. The Guadalupe HS Tides couldn't capitalize on the big game from Jimenez and dropped the contest, 14-9. The mood in the Tides clubhouse afterward was subdued, with several players remarking that they had allowed the Atlantics to spoil the day for Jimenez. "Some of the boys are beating themselves up about it," Guadalupe HS manager said. "They know we win as a team and lose as a team, but it's hard to really put that idea into practice on a day when one of you was playing on such an obviously higher level." In addition to the homers, Jimenez collected 5 RBIs and scored 3 runs. "I got three pitches down the pipe and popped them," the Guadalupe HS right fielder told reporters. "Today I was in a groove. Tomorrow I could just pop the same pitches up and go 0-for-3." Emilio Jimenez hit a two-run home run off Casta Galvan in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Casta Galvan in the 5th, walked in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off David Leon in the 7th and struck out in the 9th. Jimenez on the season is hitting .232 with 6 home runs. His stats include 19 RBIs and 20 runs scored. |   |
