Although the injury was initially thought to be not serious, tests have revealed the player will be out up to 7 months with a torn rotator cuff. The 15-year-old reliever suffered the injury throwing a pitch in a recent game against the Matamoros HS Foresters. This season, Vargas has made 9 relief appearances and has 2 saves.
