 | Blasters Prevail, as Round 1 Goes to the Wire Thursday, April 25th , 2041 The Brampton HS Blasters are heading to the Round 2, having narrowly defeated the Kingston HS Trail Blazers. Brampton HS edged Kingston HS in the series 4-3, with a win at Blasters Grounds in the clinching game by a 13-6 margin. Ernie Toms turned in a strong offensive performance for the Blasters and got series MVP for his efforts. "I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a Round 3 win." It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Toms continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance. For the series, he hit .517 with a .562 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, 7 RBI and scored 8 runs. The Brampton HS Blasters will play against the Pachuca HS 89ers in the next round. Pachuca HS won their series against the Charlotte HS Thunder Cats 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |   |
