 | Romero Launches 3 HR for Tides Thursday, April 3rd , 2042 Guadalupe HS Tides first baseman Francisco Romero put on a dazzling display of power at Tides Park against the Nashville HS Nobles. In the 19-6 Tides victory, Romero penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Nashville HS manager said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 16-year-old had 3 hits in 5 at-bats, 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Romero said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Francisco Romero hit a GRAND SLAM off Tim Davis in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Felipe Hernandez in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Chris Mogle in the 5th and flied out in the 7th. During the current season Romero is batting at a .263 clip with 4 home runs and 17 RBIs. He has played in 26 games and scored 15 times. |   |
