| Streak Finally Over, Boyer Held Hitless Saturday, April 9th , 2044 The hitting streak that Jacksonville HS center fielder Jonathan Boyer had kept going for 20 games was ended by the Port-au-Prince HS Sky Sox. Boyer was stymied over 4 at-bats, but the rest of his team picked him up, getting the 8-7 victory at Sky Sox Park.
"Hitting streaks come and go," Boyer said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win."
This year, Boyer is hitting .306 with 3 home runs and 14 RBIs in 12 games played. He also boasts an OBP of .346 with 3 walks and 6 runs scored. | | |
