| Rivas Powers 3 HR Against Nashville HS Saturday, April 23rd , 2044 Puebla HS Peacocks right fielder Cesar Rivas almost did it all. He sent three shots out of the ballpark, scored 3 times and drove in 5 runs and had 3 hits in 5 at-bats.
The one thing he could not do, however, was lead the Peacocks to victory. The Nashville HS Nobles escaped with the win, 11-9, despite being on the receiving end of the barrage from Rivas.
"I'd be lying if I said I didn't like hitting three homers, but losing takes a little glitter off the game," he admitted to BNN writers after the game.
Cesar Rivas hit a solo-shot off Sean Phillips in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Sean Phillips in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Billy Muse in the 5th, flied out in the 7th and struck out in the 9th.
"When someone hits three home runs, you put yourself in a tough position to win," said Puebla HS manager . "We were lucky to win this one. I don't think it matters how hard you throw, especially in the Conference 2. If you leave a ball out over the plate to good FBL High School 2 hitters, if they get a bead on you and you leave it over the middle, they're probably going to take a good hack at it."
So far this year, Rivas is batting .333 with 17 home runs, 42 RBIs and 44 runs scored. | | |
