 | Peacocks Heading to Round 2 Tuesday, April 26th , 2044 The thrill of victory and the agony of defeat were on full display tonight at Puebla HS Stadium as the Round 1 stretched to the final game. It was the Puebla HS Peacocks feeling the thrill of victory, with a 7-5 win over the Nashville HS Nobles, who were feeling the devastation of coming up short in their quest to make the Round 2. "There's no way around it -- this sucks," said Nashville HS manager . "Congratulations to Puebla HS, but I won't sugarcoat it, no one is happy about anything that transpired here tonight." Instrumental in the 4-3 series win was right fielder Cesar Rivas, who was named MVP. He hit .448 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 6 home runs, drove in 16 RBI and scored 9 runs. "We've got the most important stat of all and that's this final win -- that's the one that matters," he said. The Puebla HS Peacocks will play against the Cuernavaca HS Mallards in the next round. Cuernavaca HS won their series against the Chimalhuacan HS Airhogs 4 games to 2. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |   |
