 | Super Swinger -- Mary Slams 5 Hits Sunday, March 16th , 2042 Delmas College second baseman Jean Mary could do no wrong in his team's 16-9 win over the Spurs, as he collected 5 hits. "Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Spurs skipper said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts." Mary agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game. "Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready." Jean Mary doubled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Hector Galvan in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. Thus far this season, Mary is hitting .312 with 2 home runs, 5 RBIs and 11 runs scored. He has 15 hits in 48 at-bats and has played in 13 games. |   |
