 | Hernandez Belts Bunch of Base Hits Tuesday, April 23rd , 2041 Manny Hernandez exploded for a barrage of base hits at Sabercats Park. The Culiacan College first baseman had a field day in his team's 16-5 triumph over the Carrefour College Sabercats, finishing 5-for-6. "My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch." Hernandez must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Manny Hernandez hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Chris Ware in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Pierre Fournier in the 6th, was hit by a pitch in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. This year, Hernandez is hitting .371 with 69 hits, 14 home runs, 35 RBIs and has scored 39 runs. |   |
