After today, Carlos Gonzales can celebrate. The Guatemala College Spurs catcher powered three into the stands at Avengers Park against the El Paso College Avengers. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Gonzales told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 4-for-5 as the Spurs toppled El Paso College by a score of 9-3, knocking in 5 runs and scoring 4 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Guatemala College manager said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Carlos Gonzales hit a two-run home run off Justin Davis in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Justin Davis in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Justin Davis in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and doubled in the 9th. So far this season, Gonzales has put up a .365 batting average with 23 hits, 11 home runs and 21 RBIs. |   |
