 | Golden Panthers Prevail, as Round 1 Goes to the Wire Wednesday, May 8th , 2041 Zapopan College Golden Panthers won a nail-biting series against the Vancouver College Players 4-3, wrapping up the Round 1 finale 8-0 at Golden Panthers Park. Golden Panthers catcher Roger Camarena was named the series MVP. He batted .360, drove in 9 runs and scored 6 to lead Zapopan College into the next round of play. "Roger was real solid for us, real solid," said Golden Panthers manager . "I normally say I'd like to have nine of him out there, but thankfully we got by with just one this time." The Zapopan College Golden Panthers will play against the Camagüey College Bluebirds in the next round. Camagüey College won their series against the Panama College Flyers 4 games to 0.
