 | Sailors Chill Fleming Hot Streak Monday, April 7th , 2042 Curtis Fleming, first baseman for the New York College Night Riders, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 3 tries against the Detroit College Sailors. Not only did the Sailors break his 20-game hitting streak, they also beat New York College by the score of 9-0. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Fleming said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." This season, Fleming is swinging the bat at a .362 rate with 38 hits in 105 at-bats. To date he has hit 10 home runs, scored 28 runs and driven in 19. |   |
