He went on a rampage and sparkled on the diamond at Peregrines Field, but the performance lost a little luster when the Spirit were downed, 4-3, by the New Haven Patriots. After his glittering performance, the Minneapolis third baseman told the press that he "just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat." His batting theory paid dividends today as he slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. "I just wish we had added a win in the record book, too," Wink said. John Wink hit an RBI double in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. For the year, Wink has hit .323 with 9 home runs, 37 RBIs and scored 44 runs. |   |
