| Wade Belts 5 Hits Tuesday, July 9th , 2041 Travis Wade was at the head of a Otter Lake Caribou hit parade at Otter Lake Stadium. The 23-year-old went to the plate 5 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Vancouver Orcas that marched off with the 10-6 win.
"We didn't have it today," griped Caribou skipper following the game. "Travis did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching."
Wade did more than fine, dominating the Orcas at the plate during his record-making 5-for-5 performance.
"Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging second baseman told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
Travis Wade doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
In his season totals Wade has 2 home runs and a .337 batting average. | | |
