| Toltecs Go Down to Defeat, 4-1 | Alfonso Garbiso pitched a gem to lead Hollywood to victory over the Leon Toltecs, 4-1. In 7.2 innings, Garbiso surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Armando Fonseca picked up the save, his 8th.
Duane Purcell dealt the Toltecs a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with runners on 1st and 3rd and Hollywood leading 2-1, Purcell, who finished 4th in the UL in doubles with 25 in 2039, hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single.
"Alfonso -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Hitters manager David Fields. "He was the key to us winning."
With the win, the Hitters have a record of 45-26.
