| Toltecs Get Clutch Win, 4-3 | Starting pitcher Joe Shipley pitched well enough to help the Leon Toltecs beat the Phoenix Firebirds, 4-3. Al Reyes notched his 16th save in 18 chances. The win puts Leon at 29-44.
Had Frank Foutch not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Foutch hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Toltecs.
"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Shipley said.
