| Neal, Leon Open CS Strong with 3-1 Win | The Conference Championship got off to a quiet start, with the host Leon Toltecs taking a low-scoring, 3-1 win over the San Francisco Pioneers. Leon right-hander Josh Neal was marvelous at Toltecs Field. The Toltecs now hold a 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Tony Guevara was 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs against the Pioneers. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that put Leon in front, 2-1.
Leon manager David Fields praised his team's "businesslike approach."
