Both teams had their chances, but the Toronto Robbers eventually prevailed.

The Toronto Robbers used a great performance from former first overall pick Josh Chira to beat the New York Empire, 2-1, at Empire Ballpark. Chira, the winner, moves to 2-6. He threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 5 walks. Jaime Martinez earned save number 5 this season.

Oscar Lopez, who is tied for 9th in the IL in bases on balls with 21, had a direct impact on the outcome. Lopez contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put Toronto up, 2-0.

"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said New York manager David Fields.

Even with the win, the Robbers have a dismal 11-28 record.
