| Montreal Wins, 8-4, Behind 2 Wells Home Runs | Getting a good performance from right fielder Rich Wells, the Montreal Mammoths defeated the Chicago Hawks, 8-4. Wells was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Mammoths. The winner was Montreal reliever Rudy Neaves, now 4-0. The loser was Luis Trevino. Sébastien Alexandre earned his 4th save, after closing out the game.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Mammoths grabbed the lead when Wells hit his 13th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Jon Cardenas made it 5-3, Montreal.
"I'm trying to see the ball big, see the ball up in the zone and put the barrel on it," Wells told the Montreal News.
The Mammoths are now 31-20, while the Hawks fall to 16-35.
