In a low-scoring contest between the New York Empire and the Toronto Robbers, Mike Clark, who finished 2nd in the IL in wins with 15 in 2033, proved to be the difference. The New York right-hander earned props for his performance in the 1-0 Empire win. The defeat makes Toronto 1-5.

Clark's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 8 strikeouts in 7 innings while allowing 4 hits. Clark, who led the IL in ERA with 1.82 in 2036, goes to 1-0 on the year with 13 strikeouts.

"It's a mindset," said Clark. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
