Led by Rich Wells, the Montreal Mammoths downed the Philadelphia Fury, 14-7. Wells was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Mammoths. Montreal has now won 4 games in a row.

Steve Kesner had a big 3-run home run for the Mammoths in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Montreal leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Danny Ramirez and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Mammoths on top, 6-2.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Montreal skipper David Fields.
