The Montreal Mammoths beat the Boston Kings, 6-3, at Condors Park. The Mammoths got a fine performance from center fielder Jay Butler, who went 4-5 with a triple and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times. Jesse Zipperer notched his 22nd save in 24 chances. The losing streak for Boston has now reached 7 games.

Montreal used a timely hit from David Smallman to get the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Mammoths ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

Montreal manager David Fields was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
