The Boston Kings topped the Montreal Mammoths, 4-0, in Independent action at Condors Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Boston pitcher Evan Morrison. Morrison, now 9-5, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 9, walking 3, and allowing no runs. The Kings, at 42-51, sit in third place in the Independent Central.

Boston took the lead, 4-0, on Neal Johnson's 8th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Montreal pitcher Val Kerr in the bottom of the seventh.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Morrison.
