| Mammoths Fall Short, 6-5, at Toronto | The Toronto Robbers beat the Montreal Mammoths, 6-5, in part because of left fielder Bobby Goguen. He was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs. Toronto is in first place in the Independent North Division with a record of 55-42.
In the bottom of the fifth with one out, the Robbers were let down by their defense. With Toronto trailing 4-2, Goguen hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It could have been more costly, but the Robbers were able to get the win.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Goguen said.
