| Carter Delivers 4-1 Win | Montreal beat Toronto in a rain-soaked ballgame.
Montreal Mammoths starter Ed Carter pitched well against the Toronto Robbers at Mounties Park, leading his team to a win, 4-1. Jesse Zipperer earned the save, his 24th, for the Mammoths.
Carter, a native of Edmonton, Canada, was dealing all game. He kept Toronto hitters off-balance, while giving the Mammoths 8 quality innings. Carter threw 82 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 3.
"Ed throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said Montreal manager David Fields.
