| Kesner goes 3-for-3 to Power Mammoths Offense | The Montreal Mammoths stopped the Miami Makos, 9-6, at Honolulu Stadium. The Mammoths got a big game from Steve Kesner, who went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Ed Carter, the winner, goes to 5-5. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with 4 walks and 4 strikeouts over 6.1 innings. Picking up the save was Dave Helmey, his 1st.
Rich Wells helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he hit a 3-1 splitter from Brandon Diggs for a bases-clearing double, to give Montreal a 3-0 lead.
"You can't hate how you win if you win," said Montreal skipper David Fields.
The defeat makes Miami 60-47.
