| Win Lifts Mammoths to 9-3 | The Detroit Vipers could not turn a fine performance from first baseman Chris Weinreis into a win. Instead, the Montreal Mammoths prevailed, 6-4. Weinreis was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Montreal pitcher Juan Castillo got the win, upping his record to 3-0. Justin Young got the loss. Montreal, with the win, is 9-3.
Steve Kesner provided a timely hit. The Montreal designated hitter delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Mammoths on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Kesner, "one at-bat at a time."
