The Phoenix Firebirds used a stellar performance from pitcher Jim Burrows to throttle the Leon offense en route to an extra-inning, 4-2 win at Toltecs Field. The win gives Phoenix a record of 4-3.

Phoenix starter Jim Burrows was exceptional. The 5-foot-10 right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits over 9 innings of work.

"That was a really good outing by Jim," said Phoenix manager David Fields.
