Firebirds left fielder Roberto Rodriguez left his mark on his team's 6-5 win over the Leon Toltecs. Rodriguez, who finished 3rd in the UL in hits with 115 in 2043, was 2-2 with 2 singles and 3 walks for Phoenix in the contest. Frank Gonzalez picked up the win in relief for Phoenix, while Stéphane Dupuis took the loss. Kevin Williamson closed it out for his 3rd save.

Victor Chavez aided the Phoenix cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the fifth. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-4 with a walk.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Chavez, "one at-bat at a time."

With the win, Phoenix climbs to 5-3.
