| Toltecs Suffer 5-3 Road Loss | The San Diego Luchadors picked up a win at Luchadors Field, taking down the Leon Toltecs, 5-3. Starting pitcher Victor Sandoval was a big reason why. In 7 innings, Sandoval surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Jeremy Bares recorded the save, his 4th.
Josh Gannon had a big 2-run double for the Luchadors in the bottom of the sixth inning. With San Diego leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Ron Martin and swatted a double to center. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Luchadors ahead, 4-1.
"Every good pitch to hit is a strike," said Gannon. "But not every strike is a good pitch to hit."
San Diego now sits at 10-13, while Leon falls to 11-12.
