Oklahoma City beat Leon on the strength of starting pitcher Jeremy Dowd's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 1-0. The winning pitcher was Dowd, now 1-0. He tossed 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. Chad Strickland earned the save for Oklahoma City, his 5th.

Blake Shannon drove in one run for Oklahoma City. The fan favorite had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Joe Shipley. It was his 10th RBI of the season.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Dowd said.

After today's action, Oklahoma City sits at 14-11; Leon slips to 10-15.
