| Leon Neutralizes Houston, 2-1 | Leon Toltecs starter Angelo Pulido turned in a sparkling performance against the Houston Rangers, leading his team to a 2-1 win. The winner was Pulido. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Walt Samuels. Alex Ramirez nailed down his 6th save.
Leon took a 2-1 lead on David Spence's 7th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Spence hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Houston pitcher Walt Samuels visibly frustrated.
"Tough loss," said Houston manager David Fields. "This one will sting for a while."
The Toltecs, now 13-12, know that wins in April count the same as wins in September. | | | | |
