| San Diego Drops Another One, 4-1 | Pitcher Travis Welker was rock solid in helping the San Francisco Pioneers beat the San Diego Luchadors, 4-1. Gary Gunnoe earned save number 9. San Diego has now lost 6 in a row.
Brandon Hoyt had a big 2-run home run for the Pioneers in the bottom of the third inning. With San Francisco leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Roberto Ladd and swatted a home run to right. It was his 7th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Pioneers ahead, 3-0.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said San Diego manager David Fields.
