| Peaches Clonk Hitters, 5-4 | The Hollywood Hitters got a superb performance from right fielder Duane Purcell, but the Atlanta Peaches still won the game, 5-4. Purcell was 4-4 with 3 doubles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Colin Denman got the win, improving to 3-1. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 6 and walking 0. Chet Corson closed it out for Atlanta, earning his 13th save.
The Peaches got a big at-bat from catcher Dave Willis. For the game, Willis went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 4th double of the season gave Atlanta a 4-2 lead.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Hollywood manager David Fields. "But we decided not to take it."
With the victory, the Peaches upped their record to 19-14.
