| Robbers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Kings, 4-3 | The Toronto Robbers topped the Boston Kings, 4-3, in Independent action at Mounties Park. The standout performance belonged to Toronto pitcher and Tocumen, Panama, native Jon Cardenas. Reliever Jose Ramirez picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Joe Penrod, who finished 4th in the IL in saves with 24 in 2040, took the loss. Toronto is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 15 games.
Toronto took a 4-2 lead on Bill Ramos's 1st triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Ramos hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Boston pitcher Joe Penrod visibly frustrated.
"Everything felt in sync," said Cardenas.
