| Marauders Score Late, Topple Rangers, 6-3 | Starting pitcher Gabe Carrera pitched well enough to help the Mexico City Marauders beat the Houston Rangers, 6-3. The winner was Carrera. He threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Jake Reed. With the win, Mexico City has a record of 25-18. Houston falls to 19-24.
Mexico City used the timely hitting of Mario Cardenas to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Marauders on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It never gets old," said Carrera. "Winning, that is."
