| In 12, Toronto Beats Detroit, 5-3 | Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Toronto Robbers and Detroit Vipers.
The Toronto Robbers faced a tenacious opponent in Detroit pitcher Dan Reis, but still scratched out a win at Vipers Park by a final score of 5-3 in 12 innings. Reis went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner was Toronto reliever Mike Brown, now 2-0. The loser was Enrique Flores. Jaime Martinez got credit for the save for Toronto. It was his 4th of the year.
Toronto relied on the bat of Bill Ramos to get the win. The shortstop ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Robbers ahead, 3-2. For the game, Ramos had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.
"Exciting game to play in," said Ramos. "Getting the win makes it even better."
