| Jets Win with Late Heroics | The Dallas Jets found a way to sneak past the Atlanta Peaches, 3-2, in 10 innings. Dallas pitcher Gerardo Corona, for one, had a standout performance. So far in 2045, Dallas is 23-27.
Up to bat in the bottom of the tenth, 22-year old first baseman David de Alva had a chance to be the hero. Atlanta pitcher Mitchell Wilson wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, de Alva hit a sacrifice fly. The Jets had themselves a thrilling win.
"It'd be nice to win by four or five runs," Corona said, "instead of holding our breath the whole game." | | | | |
