| Vipers Rebuff Robbers, 4-3 | Detroit Vipers starter Dan Throop pitched effectively against the Toronto Robbers at Vipers Park. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 4-3 win. The Robbers drop to 7-11.
Ramon Guardado had a big 2-run double for the Vipers in the bottom of the third inning. With Detroit leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Alex Rocha and swatted a double to left. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Vipers ahead, 4-1.
"Coulda, shoulda, woulda," said Toronto manager David Fields. "We had our chances and didn't cash in."
