 | Nichols Bashes 5 Base Hits Friday, March 24th , 2045 Tony Nichols was at the head of a Columbus College hit parade at Bisons Stadium. The second baseman went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, sparking the Alligators to a nice 18-6 victory over the Tulsa College Bisons. "I told the guys in the dugout, just be thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging Nichols told reporters after the game. "Seems like it worked out well for us today." Bisons skipper said later that the club gave up "too much plate." "Not the way we planned it," he said. "Every hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Tony Nichols hit a solo-shot off Harald Paulsen in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and singled in the 9th. So far this year, Nichols has hit .356 with 5 home runs, 22 RBIs and 19 runs scored. |   |
