 | Owens Packs a Wallop -- Hits 3 HR Against Swamp Foxes Friday, April 14th , 2045 Montreal College Ironmen third baseman Justin Owens put on a dazzling display of power at Swamp Foxes Park against the San Pedro Sula College Swamp Foxes. In the 13-4 Ironmen victory, Owens penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts. "He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," San Pedro Sula College manager said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well." Along with his three home runs, the 19-year-old had 4 hits in 6 at-bats, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. "Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Owens said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today." Justin Owens hit a two-run home run off Carlos Madero in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Edwin Garza in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off Danny Lopez in the 9th. This season, Owens is batting .288 with 44 hits and 13 home runs. He has scored 31 times and has 29 RBI. |   |
