 | Great Day for Smith -- 5 Hits Monday, April 22nd , 2041 It was a sensational day at the plate for Todd Smith as he led the charge to a nifty 11-9 win over the Pump Jacks. The New York College center fielder was pure misery for the Indianapolis College pitching staff. He left them shell-shocked with 5 hits in 7 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. "Smith put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said , manager for the Pump Jacks, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Todd Smith hit a solo-shot off Jimmy Marshall in the 1st, struck out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, struck out in the 9th, singled in the 11th and hit a three-run home run off Keith Evans in the 13th.
