 | SL1 Presents Outstanding Pitcher Award Monday, June 9th , 2042 Willie Chavez of the Camagüey College Bluebirds was in command and couldn't do much wrong when he was on the mound this season. His outstanding 4-0 won-lost mark and 2.79 ERA were big factors in his winning the 2042 Conference 1 Pitcher of the Year Award. In 58 innings of work and 11 starts, Chavez struck out 62 while giving up 42 hits and 22 walks. He held opposing batters to a .200 average. He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Ron Burt of the Montreal College Ironmen finished second in voting, while Frank Vazquez of the Panama College Flyers finished third.
