The Leon Toltecs got a great start from 34-year-old right-hander Kareem Brobbey, as Leon won the contest, 5-3, at Toltecs Field. Brobbey threw 5.1 innings allowing 1 run in the win, which allowed the Leon to grab a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series.
Victor Ramos drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances against the Luchadors. With the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Leon in front, 4-3.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Brobbey. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Sunday, August 7th , 2039.
